Hello. I am a reader, writer, poet, aspiring author (fiction and memoir), and interdisciplinary performance artist.
In a previous incarnation I was a professional dancer and dance educator. Dance has taken me from Australia's dusty outback halls to New York's dusty Duke Theatre, and from grappling onstage with a celeb punk rocker to being tossed into an orchestra pit. My most memorable moment was sharing a stage with the legendary (late) Ernest "Brownie" Brown, Reggio "The Hoofer" McLaughlin, and students of Brenda Bufalino's tap residency at the New York City Tap Festival.
To this day I remain fascinated with the language of rhythm and movement.

I am also a tree hugger, tree planter, novice gardener and enthusiastic food grower. I live on a bush block in rural South Australia (Kaurna lands and territory of the Patpangga clan), and one of the things I dream about is a healthy planet filled with creative reprobates.

My journey from stage to page started with a marriage of poetry and tap dance. I was the first (and as far as I know only), tap dancing poet to appear at Melbourne’s Overload Poetry Festival and the Adelaide Fringe Festivals. From there I segued into poetry slams. I have written feature articles for Dance Australia magazine and was dance/arts reviewer for Adelaide’s InDaily magazine until I went bush with my partner in 2017.

Between 2014 and 2019 my writing jaunt was interrupted by the chaos of life, loss, going bush, then clearing fire breaks around our bush house. But, like any addiction worthy of cellular infiltration, writing lured me back, this time into longer narratives.
In 2022 a memoir about my dancing life won the narrative non-fiction award in the ASA/Copyright Agency Mentorship Program, and I spent all my spare time that year working under the guidance of my mentor, the totally glorious Lee Kofman. In the same year my fiction manuscript was shortlisted for the Writers SA/Deep Creek Residency Fellowship. 2022 was indeed an auspicious year, and I began to take this writing obsession a little more seriously. I attended every online writing workshop I could afford (thank you Australian Society of Authors and Writers SA) and began delving into Collins English Grammar in my lunch breaks.
2023 saw me finish the tenth draft of that fiction manuscript in preparation for the submission round-a-bout and begin my second novel, also fiction.

I acknowledge the significance of living and working on Aboriginal land where sovereignty has never been ceded. I pay my respects to all Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present, and emerging.
